I'm sure you've already seen this, James, but just in case you have not:

Yeah they've done a bunch of analysis on that horrible exit poll data. That question that leads you to believe that everyone in their brother is not all about the jesus really doesn't hold its weight when you do the numbers right. Its all spin.

I guess I really don't understand how someone [Jesus] whos life was the greatest display of love, can be so wholly ridiculed. Nothing has really changed all that much. What is so funny about Jesus? Someone.. Anyone.. ?

I think religion is pretty fucking hilarious...
"Religion convinced the world that there's an invisible man in the sky who watches everything you do. And there's 10 things he doesn't want you to do or else you'll go to a burning place with a lake of fire until the end of eternity. But he loves you! ...And he needs money! He's all powerful, but he can't handle money!"

I'm going to agree with supz here.... religion is pretty freaking hilarious. When your remove the crusades and fatwas and all that other horrible death that's caused by it. Its pretty funny how a group of people can hold to an ideal that was created thousands of years ago cause mankind didn't know about the science of refridgeration.

Do you believe that Jesus was a man?
I'm not sure I understand what George Carlin meant about the money issue..
War is definitely covered historically in the Bible, but nowhere does it say to go out and slay anyone for their beliefs, in fact the old testatment talks a lot about physical battles and the new testament talks little to none about them but rather about spiritual battles.

We aren't talking about the bible we are talking about religion.... there is a big difference. The bible is a book, books are good, they teach people about things and attempt to educate. Religion is bad it takes those teachings which may or may not be good and preverts them to the needs of the people in power of the organization at the time.

Yes, while the bible is a book, religion adds devotion.
I think its pretty harsh to say that religion perverts, I think its more like people pervert religion.
Religion encompasses different things, could be some sort of ceremony, worship, prayer, study, etc
I believe however that denominational structures within the Christian church tend to create more division than unity and I'm not a big fan of that so much.
